Upvc doors locks.
The majority of properties these days are either built or have old doors replaced with either UPVC doors or composite doors locking with a multipoint lock secured by a euro cylinder. The majority of people think that there property is now fully secure. This may not be the case as it will depend on the quality of the cylinder supplied and the length of cylinder.
Euro cylinder problems.
If your cylinder is protruding more than three millimetres from the handle then it could be snapped like the cylinder in the top picture and the mechanism operated and the locked door easily opened.
Lock Bumping.
The advent of lock bumping on cylinder locks is growing rapidly and is a method of opening cylinders non destructively and is virtually undetectable and allows the "bumper person" to relock your door. If this happens to your property, the chances are your insurance company will not pay out on any claim as there will be no sign of forced entry, The second picture shows a complete anti bump/snap/pick cylinder.

The lower picture on the right shows an attacked anti snap cylinder. The difference between the top and bottom pictures of cylinders is quite obvious as there is some cylinder remaining to help keep the door secure. This also means that upon arriving at your property and finding the attacked cylinder, you can still access the property, whilst you wait for the locksmith.
